Evaluating the Sources:
Summarizing the Story:
- Select ONE of the news sets at the bottom of the page. You will need to read ALL the sources for that topic.
- If the words in the article are too complex, copy and paste the link of the website on Lingro. Lingro makes the website a clickable dictionary.
- After you look at each source, you will answer the 3 questions to evaluate the source. Scroll below the story links to find the questions.
- After you have looked at all 5 sources, you will write a paragraph summarizing what the topic was about. Guidelines for the paragraph are at the bottom.
Evaluating the Sources:
- Who wrote or created the resource?
- When and where was it published?
- Was it written to inform or to persuade?
Summarizing the Story:
- In one sentence, what was the Flocabulary story about?
- What additional detail(s) did you learn?
- What is the scientific reasoning or the historical background for the occurrence?
- What is your opinion of the topic?
